Cameron Highland-Malaysia-Day 2

Alright so if you haven't checked out my previous blog do check it out to get an overview of some adventurous and scenic things to do on your way to Cameron Highlands. Before I start off a quick advise its better to rent a car for the trip rather than take packages which generally way overcharged for what you can do by just driving around.

Day 2 started out beautifully although we found out that Mount Brinchang tower was closed due to construction, this is one of the highest points at Cameron situated at 2032 meter above sea level and is located at the beginning of Mossy forest, this did dampen our original plan to hike through the forest but nevertheless you should definitely check it out.

We decided to take a detour and head towards Boh Tea Estate Garden. The weather was lovely and as soon as you reach the upper balcony deck area all your senses relax to the view of acres of tea plantations spreading into the horizon while a cool breeze hits your face. They also have a small cafe which provides tea and cake.

We decided to take off the beaten path to explore the plantation. It was easy slope down hill and mind you the tree branches can be an obstruction but the view is phenomenal and the air is absolutely fresh. There's no charge to enter this area and there ample amount of parking space below as the deck is located a little higher for viewing purposes. I would advise you to get plenty of water and spend about an hour here exploring.

One of the main attractions of Cameron Highland would definitely be strawberry farms. There's tons of gorgeous little farms in nooks and corners providing self strawberry picking services and various delicacies such as "strawberry coffee" to curb all your strawberry cravings. We decided to head towards "Big Red Strawberry Farm". This farm has everything from strawberries to cabbage on sale, fresh pots of plants line on each side of the stairs leading to a quaint restaurant that serves fresh waffles and ice cream with strawberries of course! The meal would cost you around MYR 10- MYR15 and entrance is absolutely free. If you ever wanted to purchase a plant pot the prices here are top notch ranging from MYR 2- MYR50.

In order to truly experience the cool weather at its finest we decided to rent a scooter which cost us around MYR 60 and MYR 20 for petrol which is dirt cheap. It is easy to travel around and you receive a panoramic view. On our way back we stopped at yet another tea plantation Bharat Tea Plantation. The cake and coffee were not worth the price but I would definitely recommend a quick pit stop to seep in the scenery and maybe walk down to a stream.

That sums up our trip to Cameron Highland I wasn't able to do a food review on this trip but I do hope to get in some local food reviews and pricing. There are several other activities such as camping, visiting the bee farm, rose farm etc which we decided to skip as we were looking more towards hiking and exploring. Thank you for reading this blog :)
